PAUL GAUGUIN CRUISES ACQUIRES SECOND LUXURY SHIP

m/v Tere Moana

In December 2012, a second luxury ship, The Moana, will begin sailing under the Paul Gauguin Cruises banner. Scheduled to undergo a multifaceted renovation to be completed that month, The Moana will accommodate just 90 guests and will reflect the high standard of quality and service already established for the

cruise line by the m/s Paul Gauguin.

Like The Gauguin, The Moana will specialize in warm-weather destinations, with an emphasis on delivering unique itineraries that larger ships cannot offer and exploring hidden ports throughout these regions. Plans are to sail during the summer months in Europe and winter in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Full details about The Moana's itineraries and sailing schedule will be announced shortly.

History: the m/v Moana was built for Compagnie du Ponant in 1998 and launched as the sleek, 90-passenger Le Levant offering a private yacht-like experience. The ship sports five decks with all outside cabins (no balconies), a swimming pool and sun deck, a spa and fitness center, and small library.
Le Levant will sail the Caribbean and Venezuela until April then moving to most the Mediterranean, Aegean, Adriatic and Black Seas until transferring to Paul Gauguin Cruises in late 2012.

m/s Paul Gauguin

The m/s Paul Gauguin was designed specifically to sail the shallow seas of Tahiti and French Polynesia, visiting small ports that larger ships can't reach and effortlessly blending into the stunning natural beauty of the South Seas.

She offers an extension of the informal, relaxing environment of the islands, coupled with five-star service, comfort and luxury. Spacious suites and staterooms (more than 70% with private balconies), an on-board watersports marina, a choice of three open-seating dining venues and an extensive spa are among her luxurious attributes. The atmosphere aboard ship radiates warmth, informality, and Polynesian flair. And our beloved troupe of Gauguines-a local Tahitian group who serve as cruise staff, entertainers and storytellers-add the unique personality of Tahiti to every cruise.

Watersport Marina
Dive into the blue and come face to face with a colorful parade of marine life, from magnificent parrot fish and clownfish to stately sea turtles. Your first dive into crystal-clear waters will spoil you for anything else under the sun-or the seven seas.

Watersports are a highlight of the Polynesian experience, and the m/s Paul Gauguin is constructed to take full advantage of these irresistible waters, with accessibility to ports and adventures that other ships can't offer. The ship's small footprint enables it to navigate lagoons that larger ships would never dare to enter. And our retractable, onboard Watersports Marina brings you down to sea level, where you can hop aboard a windsurfer, launch a kayak, try waterskiing, or embark on our Zodiac for optional diving adventures.

Even if you've never been diving, you can take advantage of our onboard scuba lessons. The m/s Paul Gauguin is the only luxury ship in French Polynesia to offer PADI certification onboard for novice divers as well as classes at all levels, from snorkeling to advanced scuba diving techniques, supervised by our own staff of PADI dive masters. For the convenience of our guests, all necessary equipment, including an air compressor to refill scuba tanks, is onboard.
